LA PUENTE, Los Angeles County — October 25, 2026. La Puente has given residents advance notice of local transit changes scheduled to take effect January 1, 2027. The city’s official announcement identifies new routes, introduction of Mini-Transit, updated operating hours and revised fares. The change is scheduled for the start of next year, not currently in effect in October.

What should bus riders check?

The municipality provides a flyer on its Transit Updates page and a separate City News section with an announcement in Spanish: Próximos cambios en el servicio de transporte público – Efectivos a partir del 1 de enero de 2027. Riders should consult the actual flyer for individual route numbers, stops, fares and trip times rather than assume their existing schedules will still apply after December 31.

The notice refers to Mini-Transit as a new service type but the accessible written announcement does not specify every operational detail. California58 therefore does not claim that Mini-Transit is automatically door-to-door, free, available to all residents, or bookable by a particular app. Those features require confirmation from the transportation department and official service documents.

Why the timing matters

People using public transportation to reach school, work, medical appointments, senior services or city programs may need to adjust departure times and transfer plans. For a trip around the new year, check current La Puente notices, holiday service changes, and any updated schedule from the operator before traveling. An advance announcement is not a confirmation that the transition has been implemented.

Where to ask for help

The municipal website links Transit Services as well as La Puente Link Route Changes and provides contact information for residents. City Hall is at 15900 E. Main Street, La Puente, CA 91744, main phone (626) 855-1500. The city also lists a Community Center at 501 N. Glendora Avenue and a Senior Center at 16001 Main Street, both of which may be useful destinations for residents reviewing routes.

Halloween event has already passed

A separate city posting shows the 2026 Trunk or Treat took place on the calendar for Friday, October 23, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at La Puente Park. Since that date has passed, the event should not be promoted as upcoming on October 25. This transit article concerns a future 2027 service change, not the completed October festival.
